Disney develops TV version of Percy Jackson: Mythical adventure of the son of Poseidon

According to the original author Rick Riordan, his mythological novel "Percy Jackson" will soon be made into a TV series, produced by Disney's streaming media Disney+, which will tell the story of Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, the mortal boy. Previously, "Percy Jackson" was adapted into a movie, "Percy Jackson and the Olympian Lightning Thief" was released in 2010, and "Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters" was released in 2013.

It is reported that in the TV version of "Percy Jackson", the protagonist Percy is changed from 12 years old in the novel to 16 years old, and Rick Riordan said that the TV version will focus more on the original work, following the story line of the first series of 5 books in the novel, and the first season begins with "The Lightning Thief" (Percy goes to find Zeus's thunder and stop the war between the Greek gods). He also revealed that he will personally participate in every aspect of the TV version.

Rick Riordan once revealed that he had little control over the creation of the "Percy Jackson" movie, and after reading the script of the first movie, he made many comments and suggestions and wrote them to the producers. Including setting the protagonist at the age of 17 at the beginning of the movie. He thought it was not good for the future possibility of the movie and attracting the target audience, and hoped to follow the 12-year-old setting of the novel. Fox made some changes afterwards, but not much, and changed it to 16.
