Film and television production has resumed in New Zealand, meaning that the live-action scenes that still need to be filmed for James Cameron's four "Avatar" sequels can begin again, as the total cost of the "Avatar" sequels is reportedly around $1 billion, or around $250 million per film.

According to Deadline, Avatar 2 to Avatar 5 will resume filming in New Zealand in the coming month, as well as Amazon's Lord of the Rings series.

"Avatar 2" is scheduled to be released in North America on December 17, 2021, and the other sequels are scheduled to be released on December 22, 2023, December 19, 2025, and December 17, 2027.

"Avatar" was once the highest-grossing movie in history, but was later replaced by Marvel's "Avengers 4". However, director Cameron believes that the gap between the two is very small, so once "Avatar 2" is released, it will take back the top spot.

Previously, the official Twitter account of "Avatar" stated that the creation of Pandora in the "Avatar" movie world was inspired by many undiscovered wonders on Earth.
