Korean star Gong Yoo, who starred in "Train to Busan", will cooperate with Netflix to star in a new horror drama

According to Korean news on April 21, Gong Yoo, the star of Train to Busan, will join Netflix's new horror drama The Calm Sea. The drama is adapted from the movie of the same name, directed by Choi Hang-yong, the original director of the movie, and written by Park Eun-kyo, the writer of the movie Mother. Another Korean star, Bae Doona, is also actively considering participating after receiving the suggestion to play the role of an elite team member.

The drama is set in the future Earth where global desertification has led to a shortage of water and food. It tells the story of elite team members going to a research base abandoned on the moon to recover suspicious samples. In the drama, Gong Yoo will play Yoon Jae (transliteration), a soldier and team leader of the Aerospace Exploration Agency. He will lead the team members with his outstanding business ability and dazzling leadership style.

"The Calm Sea" consists of 8 episodes and will start filming in August this year.
