The new movie version of "Slam Dunk" topped the box office for four consecutive weeks, with a cumulative box office of 5 billion yen

The new Slam Dunk movie, Slam Dunk -The First Slam Dunk-, has been No. 1 in Japanese theaters for four consecutive weekends. The movie sold 302,000 tickets last weekend, with revenue of 461,741,060 yen (about 24.19 million yuan) from Friday to Sunday. As of last weekend, the movie has sold a total of 3,407,275 tickets, with a cumulative total box office of 5,067,029,010 yen (about 265.45 million yuan).

The film ranked first at the box office on its opening weekend, with 847,000 tickets sold and revenue of 1,295,808,780 yen (about 67.93 million yuan).

The film premiered in Japan on December 3, showing in 40 IMAX theaters across Japan, with 34 theaters showing it in Dolby Atmos. On December 10, an additional Dolby Cinema was added.

Makoto Shinkai's "The Journey of Bell and Bud" ranked second, having been released for 7 weeks and with a total box office of over 10 billion yen.

The live-action movie adapted from the comic book "Night Parade" ranked fourth. It premiered this week and took in 200 million yen in the first three days.
