Sony today confirmed the release date for the new Marvel movie: October 8, 2021. It is not yet clear who the movie will be about. Sony owns the copyright to Spider-Man and a large number of related characters. Sony has previously collaborated with Marvel to launch two "Spider-Man" movies starring Holland: "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home". Both movies are set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, Sony is also producing its own Spider-Man universe movies without the help of Marvel Studios, including "Venom" starring Tom Hardy (2018.10.5), "Venom 2" (2020.10.2) and "Morbius: Doctor Vigilante" starring Jared Leto (2020.7.31). Over the past few years, there have been reports that Sony's Spider-Man movie universe is already in development, and many Spider-Man-related characters will be filmed in personal movies, including Silver Sable, Black Cat, Kraven the Hunter, Nightwatch, Madame Web, Jackpot and Sinister Six. Of course, there may be more Spider-Man universe characters that we have not heard of that will be filmed into personal movies. Which Sony movie would you like to see released on October 8, 2021? |
