According to "The Rock" (Johnson), the director of "Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw 2" has not yet been determined, and it is not clear when filming will start, but the sequel to the film is currently in production. He said: "(We) now have to figure out the creativity and the direction we want to go."

Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the global release of "Fast & Furious 9" has been postponed to April 2021, and the North American release date has also been adjusted from the original May 22 to April 2, 2021.
