Today (February 26), IGN gave a score of 7 to "Superman: Red Son", which was adapted from the 2003 DC comic of the same name. IGN said that "Superman: Red Son" adapted a groundbreaking Superman graphic novel, but did not show the greatness of the original work. IGN Rating: 7 Good Superman: Red Son adapted a seminal Superman graphic novel, but it didn’t live up to the greatness of the original. IGN's overall review: Superman: Red Son is a strong addition to the DC animated film library in recent years. The source material is well suited to this format, and Superman: Red Son provides a rare opportunity to explore a morally conflicted "Man of Steel" and show a less evil Lex Luthor. Unfortunately, the film is weakened by an underwhelming ending and a lackluster animation style, but if it weren't for these issues, Superman: Red Son has the potential to be one of DC's best animated films. As it is, the film is still well worth a watch for Superman fans who want to see a different side of Superman and experience a unique perspective on the DC Universe.
