Indian producer says Parasite is suspected of plagiarism and is ready to sue

At this year's Oscars, "Parasite" directed by Bong Joon-ho made a splash, winning four awards including Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best International Film and Best Picture, making history in every aspect. However, recently, Indian filmmaker PL Thenapan posted on Twitter that "Parasite" plagiarized his 1999 film "Minsara Kanna".

Thenapan said in the interview that he is now "talking with international lawyers and intends to file a lawsuit against the producers of Parasite as soon as possible." He believes that the Korean film stole the core of his own 1999 film Minsara Kanna. The director of Minsara Kanna said he was happy for the success of the Korean film while pointing out the similarities between the two films.

"Minsara Kanna" tells the story of a man who conceals his identity in order to win love and enters his wealthy lover's house as a bodyguard. After that, his family members also conceal their true purpose and enter the mansion one by one.
