Liu Yifei's film "Mulan" adds another Chinese cast to play the clown "Lao Yao"

Chinese actor Tang Chenying has confirmed that he will join the Disney live-action film "Mulan" and play the role of Lao Yao (the character's name may be changed). In the animated film "Mulan", Lao Yao is a middle-aged veteran with a funny appearance. He is short and always makes a fool of himself. He especially likes to make things difficult for Mulan. This kind of role setting is considered a "clown" in traditional Peking Opera.

In the animated film, Lao Yao and Hua Mulan later became good comrades who helped each other. Overall, he was a kind-hearted and upright character. This time, the handsome Tang Chenying will play the role, and it is expected that the character will be greatly changed.

It is reported that "Mulan" is currently being filmed intensively in New Zealand, starring Chinese actors such as Liu Yifei, Yoson An, Jet Li, Gong Li, Donnie Yen, and Cheng Peipei. It is directed by Hollywood director Niki Caro and is scheduled to be released in North America on March 27, 2020.
