DC to recreate Dark Justice League series of movies and TV shows

According to foreign media Deadline, J.J. Abrams' "Bad Robot" production company will cooperate with Warner Media to jointly develop movies and American TV series adapted from the DC comic "Justice League Dark" universe. At present, this matter is still in its infancy, and it is not yet known which characters and projects will be adapted.

The Dark Justice League first appeared in the comics in September 2011. The founding members are some mysterious and bizarre superheroes, including John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Dead Man, Shadow, Shifter and Zatanna. Later, Swamp Thing also joined their alliance. Other members of the Dark Justice League include Andrew Bennett, Xuan Lan, Doctor Mist, Frankenstein, Pandora and Nightmare Nurse.

Due to their special abilities, the members are all supernatural heroes who can use magic in the DC universe. They deal with matters outside the traditional "Justice League". It is not yet certain whether J.J. Abrams, the boss of Bad Robot Productions, will participate in directing these American TV series or movies.

Previously, "Justice League Dark" was adapted into a 2017 animated film, with voice acting by Rosario Dawson and others; John Constantine was adapted into the 2005 Warner film "Hellblazer", starring Keanu Reeves, with a global box office of over 230 million US dollars. The character was also adapted into the NBC American TV series "Constantine: City of Demons", written by David S. Goyer and others, with a total of 13 episodes; Swamp Thing was adapted into the 1982 movie "Swamp Thing", and last year it was adapted into the American TV series "Swamp Thing" produced by James Wan, which aired one season on DC's streaming platform DC Universe.
