Batman 2 to start filming in early 2025, director and lead actor both return

Andy Serkis revealed that "Batman 2" will start filming in early 2025, and director Matt Reeves, starring Robert Pattinson and others will return.

The Batman will be released in 2022. This film is the first independent live-action Batman film after The Dark Knight Trilogy. The film is directed by Matt Reeves, who co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig, and stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell.

"Batman" is set in a different world from the DC Extended Universe. It tells the story of Bruce Wayne discovering corruption in Gotham City and fighting crime in his second year as Batman.
