3 Idiots to Play Lara Croft in Amazon's New Tomb Raider TV Series

According to Deadline, actress Sophie Turner has been cast as legendary explorer Lara Croft in Amazon's upcoming Tomb Raider TV series, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Previously, Turner was one of many candidates, and finally stood out and beat other competitors to get the role. Currently, the two parties are still in the final contract negotiations, and Amazon has not officially confirmed the news. However, Turner's joining will undoubtedly speed up the production process of the show.

Turner is famous for playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones (nicknamed Sansa Stark by fans) and Jean Grey in the X-Men film series. There are some differences between her and Lara Croft, especially in the traditional portrayal of Lara Croft, whose figure is usually portrayed as more plump and with a larger bust. Sophie Turner's figure is relatively slender.

At present, the specific broadcast time of the show has not been determined. But Turner's joining suggests that the show may start filming as early as 2025 and is expected to be launched on Prime Video in 2026.

It is worth mentioning that Crystal Dynamics Studio is also developing a new "Tomb Raider" game, which will be the first new game in the series since "Tomb Raider: Shadow" in 2018.
