The director's cut of "Justice League" will be broadcast online simultaneously around the world (except China, Japan and France) on March 18. Today (March 16), the media ratings of the director's cut of "Justice League" were released. IGN gave it a score of 8, but Gamespot only gave it a low score of 3. IGN Rating: 8 points Excellent The theatrical version of "Justice League" is dead, long live the "Justice League" director's cut! IGN's overall review: The director's cut of Justice League unexpectedly makes a strong case for Zack Snyder and the fans who believed in his ideas. With a mature approach to superhero drama, better villains, and improved action sequences, the director's cut rescues the film from the dustbin of history, something that could likely only happen on a streaming platform like HBO Max. While not every addition is necessary and some of the new special effects feel unpolished, it's hard to overstate how much the director's cut of Justice League is a real shocker. Gamespot Rating: 3 out of 5 Terrible It really must be said that landing on the streaming platform is the only gift that the director's cut of "Justice League" gives to fans and audiences, because online broadcasts can be paused and resumed freely, and not everyone can bear the 4-hour length. In a pop culture ecosystem dominated by IP, reinvention of superhero characters has become the norm, so it’s pointless to discuss how Batman doesn’t feel like Batman when he’s blasting aliens with a Gatling gun, or how Superman doesn’t even frown. These characters (in the form that Zack gives them) might work if they existed in better movies. And the performances, when they’re real performances, rather than CGI images flying around on the screen, are indeed reliable. But they never go beyond this range: a group of great actors do a good job, but always look like they’re playing ping-pong in front of a green screen. +The new content added to Steppenwolf is really good, and the villain image is even better +The new Cyborg scene fleshes out the character of Victor Stone in a more interesting way - The four-hour duration makes it seem like there is no end in sight -The new scenes with Aquaman and The Flash are pretty stupid -The soundtrack doesn't fit the film at all and gets boring pretty quickly - The special effects are cheap, like the cutscenes in old games -The new character Iris West is just a tool, she doesn't have many lines and doesn't contribute much to the plot Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 75% M station average score 53 points The director's cut of "Justice League" is 4 hours, 1 minute and 28 seconds long and will be broadcast online simultaneously around the world (except China, Japan and France) on March 18. |
