"Avengers 4" director comments on "Game of Thrones" Season 8: I like all the choices in it

According to foreign media reports, Google regularly conducts in-depth conversations with some news figures as part of its series of events called Talks at Google, with participants from various fields such as politics, music, and movies. Recently, Joe Russo, co-director of "Avengers: Endgame", appeared in this event.

The director stopped by Google and took part in Talks at Google during his We Love You 3000 tour in Chicago, which was designed to thank fans for their continued support of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and celebrate the Russo brothers' US hit Endgame.

In addition to discussing issues related to "End Game", an audience member asked Joe a very interesting question at the event - "Do you think you did the right thing with the storyline of "Avengers"? And what did "Game of Thrones" do wrong?"

To which Joe was quick to respond that if he answered the question it would most likely be making headlines for the next three weeks. That's why the director tried to approach the question with something akin to diplomacy, while also revealing his personal thoughts on the controversial final season of Game of Thrones:

"They (Game of Thrones producers) made the choices they wanted to make in the show, and people - I think they think so - felt that it (the ending) was not well seeded in the series. I loved all the choices. I thought they were crazy and unexpected, which is what I want from a story, but I also saw where people were frustrated."

He also acknowledged that one problem with the network's backlash to the show, and to modern art and pop culture in general, is that it's partly because viewers have an unprecedented sense of ownership over the content they consume and love. "I've learned from social media that there are a few people whose opinions are very loud, and they often drive the media cycle in an unhealthy way because you don't get a true sampling of everyone's opinions."
