The new Chinese version of "Mulan" trailer reveals Gong Li's witch look for the first time

Disney's official Weibo account released a new trailer for the live-action film "Mulan" as scheduled. Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen who plays Mulan's mentor Tung, Jet Li who plays the emperor , Gong Li who plays the witch, and others made a collective appearance.

In this trailer, Gong Li's witch costume is revealed - wearing long armor and a crown, fighting with Mulan. Previously, Gong Li revealed that the name of this character is "Xianlang", "can instantly transform into thousands of eagles, with great power and many action scenes". The characters of Donnie Yen and Jet Li also made their debut, and the familiar melody of "Reflection" sounded.

The live-action movie "Mulan" is adapted from the Disney animation based on Chinese folklore. The first Chinese Disney princess in a live-action movie wields a sword. It tells the story of Hua Mulan, who disguised herself as a man and joined the army in place of her father. She broke the fate of being a "good wife" and faced her true self, "fighting for glory."

The film is directed by Niki Caro (The Zookeeper’s Wife, Whale Rider, North Country), and will be released in North America on March 27, 2020, with a release date in mainland China to be determined.
