Andy Serkis confirmed to join the new Batman as butler Alfred

Foreign media previously reported that two well-known actors, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell, will join the new version of the independent film "Batman". Now director Matt Reeves announced on Twitter that Andy Serkis has confirmed to join the film and will play the role of Alfred Pennyworth, the butler of the Wayne family. He also posted a GIF of Andy Serkis running on the red carpet and high-fiving fans.

Currently, The Batman has confirmed Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. There were also rumors that Colin Farrell might play the Penguin.

The preparatory work for the new version of "Batman" has started this summer, and the official shooting will begin at the end of this year or early next year. The director is Matt Reeves, who filmed "Planet of the Apes". The film will be released nationwide on June 25, 2021.
