Xu Zheng: Lost in Russia is a Chinese family movie and there is also pressure to release it during the Spring Festival

Recently, the first China (Baisha) Film and Television Industry Film Week officially opened in Baisha, Jiangjin. As the image ambassador of this film week, the famous actor, director, and producer Xu Zheng appeared at the Behind-the-Scenes Heroes Ceremony to speak out and cheer for the behind-the-scenes heroes in the film industry. Before the red carpet ceremony, Xu Zheng also accepted an interview with media reporters.

As the image ambassador of the first China (Baisha) Film and Television Industry Film Week, Xu Zheng came to Chongqing and expressed his attitude at the beginning of the interview. "I think a movie, from the initial creativity to completion, is inseparable from the various types of work behind the scenes. People don't pay enough attention to the workers behind the scenes, and people tend to focus on directors and actors." Xu Zheng said: "I hope that through my little influence, everyone will pay attention to the staff behind the scenes and let their achievements be valued."

Xu Zheng has multiple identities such as actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Through various roles and cooperation with behind-the-scenes workers, he has a better understanding of the "behind-the-scenes heroes". "We have filmed in many countries and have cooperated with many foreign teams. I think China's production team has reached the world-class level, including the height of our production and industrial system. We can be confident in this." Xu Zheng made no secret of his confidence in Chinese films: "We are a big film country. We will slowly summarize the movies that Chinese audiences like through practice and create movies of our own Chinese form. I believe that Chinese films will definitely reach the top of the world's cinema."

Xu Zheng's new film Lost in Russia will be released on the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2020. This is the latest story in the Lost in Russia series after Lost in Thailand and Lost in Hong Kong. This time, Xu Zheng came to Russia. "As soon as I arrived in Russia, I found that it was a good place to write stories about mothers." Talking about the original intention of creating Lost in Russia, Xu Zheng said: "The story also incorporates my own personal experience. The relationship with mother is something that each of us will face. I hope that through the movie, everyone can see the process of how to love."

In the trailer of Lost in Russia, the audience saw the appearance of actors such as Shen Teng and Chen Qi. "Actually, Shen Teng is just a guest star." Xu Cheng revealed that Shen Teng's role is not large, "but as long as he is here, the performance will be very colorful and very interesting." When talking about the cooperation with Chen Qi, Xu Zheng said that he and Chen Qi had cooperated before "Swordsman". "Teacher Chen Qi is almost 90 years old, but her mental state is very good. She still remembers the process of filming with me decades ago."

Lost in Russia will also be the first time that Xu Zheng's "囧 series" will enter the Spring Festival. Xu Zheng said frankly, "The pressure is still very high. The competitors are very strong. Each movie has its own advantages." But Xu Zheng also said that as the screenwriter, director, and star of Lost in Russia, "telling a story about myself and being able to move the audience is my biggest goal. It is put in the Spring Festival because it is a Chinese family-friendly movie. We tell the story of Chinese-style family relationships. This kind of movie is very rare. I hope more audiences can see our movie."

When he arrived in Baisha and saw the Chongqing Film and Television City (Jiangjin Baisha) was listed, Xu Zheng also put forward his own suggestions for the development of the film and television city: "With the support of relevant government departments, Baisha has done very well. I also heard today that the extras in Baisha are very dedicated and willing to devote themselves to film and television performances. I think the most important thing for a film and television city is to have its own characteristics. After accumulating some resources through several major dramas, it will gradually become a distinctive place." At the same time, Xu Zheng also said, "Chongqing is too distinctive. If there is a suitable subject, Chongqing is my first choice."
