Lauren Hissrich, the producer of the Netflix version of The Witcher, has recently made a statement that shows she is very confident about this Focus adaptation. When interacting with fans on Twitter, she even said that The Witcher American TV series could be filmed for 20 years! Of course, this certainly doesn't mean that we can expect to see Geralt and his friends' stories in 2039, but according to Hissrich, there is definitely enough material in the world of The Witcher to keep the series filming for a long time. "It was previously reported that I had claimed that I had planned seven seasons for The Witcher. In fact, I also said that this series could continue to be filmed for 20 years. There is really too much material to use in the original work. Fans can just keep believing!" On the bright side, this means that if the response to this season's "The Witcher" American TV series is not so good, Netflix still has enough room to launch spin-offs and adaptation series from different angles, and may even start with "The Witcher" games. Although Hissrich confirmed that the inspiration for "The Witcher" American TV series came from the original book rather than the game, she also mentioned that she and her colleagues are ready to interpret the story. The first season of The Witcher will premiere on Netflix on December 20, with a total of 8 episodes. |
