After Thailand and New York, the story of this work shifts to Tokyo, Japan, telling a new adventure experienced by "Chinatown Detectives" Tang Ren (played by Wang Baoqiang) and Qin Feng (played by Liu Haoran) who came to Japan at the request of Noda Hao (played by Satoshi Tsumabuki). Director Chen Sicheng said in an interview that Detective Chinatown 3 would be his last Detective Chinatown movie, so he chose to set the story in Japan, a "powerhouse of reasoning". Regarding the plot, Chen Sicheng revealed that "the third story will be based on reasoning and will be very brain-burning". Detective Chinatown 3 will be released on the first day of the Chinese New Year in 2020. |
