Yi Zhongtian gives "Better Days" 92 points: Sensitive issues are filmed with restraint

Renowned writer Yi Zhongtian commented on the film "Better Days" directed by Derek Tsang on Weibo today (October 31), giving it a high score of 92 points, saying that the film has many sensitive topics, but was shot with great restraint, and "restraint is the style of a great writer." Regarding the criticism that "Better Days" failed to "dig out the roots of social problems," Yi Zhongtian believes that this is not the task of a film.

At the same time, Yi Zhongtian also gave his own opinion on the hotly debated issue of "incorporating plot points" from the original work. He said: "Except for very rare geniuses, few writers can achieve the goal of never borrowing from others. The key is whether to imitate clumsily or even directly plagiarize, or to creatively use others as one's own."

The movie "Better Days" is a combination of youth films and realism, focusing on hot social topics such as college entrance examinations and family education, and reflecting on what can be done for young people from an adult perspective. The story tells that Chen Nian (played by Zhou Dongyu) is an introverted top student in school. Her only thought in her senior year is to study hard and get into a good university.

The movie "Better Days" was released in the country on October 25.
