Uncharted movie welcomes fifth director, Bumblebee director

Tom Holland has just returned to the Marvel Universe, and there is another good news. The game adaptation movie "Uncharted" starring him has found a new director. Interestingly, when Daniel Trachtenberg, the original director of "Uncharted", announced his withdrawal at the end of August, Sony and Marvel had just "broken up".

According to foreign media reports, Travis Knight, the director of Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings, is in talks to join the directing. He is the fifth director of Uncharted following David O. Russell (American Hustle), Neil Burger (The Intouchables), Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and Travis Knight.

The movie "Uncharted" is starred by Tom Holland, who will play the young protagonist Nathan Drake, a modern version of Indiana Jones. The plot of the film focuses on the prequel of the game, telling the story of how young Nathan met Victor Sullivan and asked him for the "true scriptures".

The road to the film version of Uncharted was very tortuous. As early as 2008, Sony began preparing for this film. Not only did the director change constantly, but the leading actor also changed many times, including Mark Wahlberg and other male stars who had contact with the film. Two years ago, Holland, who was selected by Sony to become the new generation of Spider-Man, officially joined the film, and finally locked in the actor who played the leading role. After Holland joined the film, Sony decided to tell the plot from the prequel story, hoping to make this series into a new era of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Sony has currently scheduled the release date for Uncharted to be December 18, 2020 in North America.
