The new version of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" starts the horror nightmare and returns to the screen

As a masterpiece in horror movies, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" has always been a benchmark. Recently, media reported that Hollywood is working on a reboot of this horror movie, and Federico Alvarez, the director of "Don't Breathe" and the 2013 version of "The Evil Dead", will become the producer of the new version of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre tells the story of five young people who encounter a group of cannibals while visiting an old house. The most famous character in the film, the chainsaw maniac "Leatherface", is said to be based on the famous American serial killer Ed Gein. The film was banned in some countries due to its excessive violence.

The film was shot in 1974 and is the masterpiece of Tobe Hooper, who was unknown at the time. The film has become a classic with its realistic approach and outstanding visual expression. That year, the film earned $30 million at the domestic box office with a cost of less than $300,000, making it the most successful American independent film in the 1970s. In 1986, Hopper also directed the sequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, adding many comedy elements, but the final evaluation was mediocre and failed to replicate the success of the previous film.

So far, a total of eight "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" movies have been released. In addition to the four original movies, there are two spin-offs, a prequel, and a not-so-successful remake. Therefore, the producers' restarting the filming of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" this time is of great significance and quite difficult.

At present, the director and actors of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" have not been finalized. In fact, remaking "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is not an easy task. After all, the original work was born in 1974 when the New Hollywood was popular, and the current Hollywood is lackluster. If you want to replicate the success of the original work, there is not much experience and skills to learn from.
