Deadpool vs. Wolverine is a huge success, setting a new global box office record for an R-rated movie

According to official news from Walt Disney, Marvel Studios' "Deadpool vs. Wolverine" broke the box office record and became the highest-grossing R-rated movie in the world in history, surpassing 2016's "Deadpool". The film's current global box office revenue is approximately US$438.3 million, of which approximately US$202 million is in the United States.

In addition, "Deadpool vs. Wolverine" surpassed 2019's "The Lion King" to become the highest-grossing film in July in history, the highest-grossing film in the opening weekend since 2021's "Spider-Man: No Homecoming", and the second-highest-grossing film in the opening weekend after "Avengers 4: Endgame" in 2019.

Deadpool and Wolverine also helped Marvel Studios surpass $30 billion at the global box office, meaning the MCU is now the highest-grossing film franchise of all time.
