Netflix's "Cowboy Bebop" live-action series wraps up and airs at a later date

According to IGN, the first season of the live-action version of the sci-fi animation masterpiece "Cowboy Bebop" has been completed. Daniela Pineda, who plays Faye Valentine, revealed the news on Instagram. Netflix's "Cowboy Bebop" live-action series was announced in 2017 and will start filming in 2019, but the launch date has not yet been announced.

The live-action series of "Cowboy Bebop" is jointly produced by Netflix and Tomorrow Studios. John Cho ("Searching") plays Spike, Mustafa Shakir ("The Depths") plays Jet, Daniela Pineda ("Jurassic World 2") plays Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell ("The Boys") plays Bixias, and Elena Satine ("Revenge") plays Julia. The original director Shinichiro Watanabe serves as a consultant, and Yoko Kanno composes the music.

Netflix's "Cowboy Bebop" first started filming in New Zealand in 2019, and the planned shooting time was 6-7 months. However, due to the injury of the leading actor John Cho on the set, the shooting had to be postponed after only a few days.

During the period when the leading actor was recovering, Netflix further polished the script and invited the original animation director Shinichiro Watanabe as a production consultant to start the early production of the second season. Since then, due to the spread of the epidemic around the world, the show did not restart until September 2020.
