Tom Hiddleston shares interesting news about signing with MCU: Signed contract to play two roles

There are many actors who have worked with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but few have had as lasting an impact on the company as Tom Hiddleston. With his role as the wily Loki, Hiddleston established himself as one of Marvel Studios' finest actors. However, his audition for the role of Loki was a unique one.

In an interview, the British actor shared details about his audition for Marvel. Initially, Hiddleston was auditioning for Thor. However, before he began acting, he signed a contract that allowed Marvel to cast him in two main roles in the film.

"It's so funny... it's very common in the industry, but I signed it anyway. Basically, they pre-negotiated my contract before I went to the audition, and I signed it. But I realized that morning that it said 'Marvel Studios has the rights to Tom Hiddleston to play...' and then someone wrote 'Thor/Loki' on it."

Marvel obviously recognized Hiddleston's talent, so they gave him a double chance, even though he initially only auditioned for Thor. In the end, the role of Thor went to Chris Hemsworth, and Hiddleston became one of the best villains Marvel has ever created.

Loki made his first appearance in the film Thor, and his role as the God of Lies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become more and more important with each film he appears in. Initially, he was the main villain in The Avengers, but later in recent years, his role became more complex in the acclaimed Marvel series Loki.
