"Stand by Me Doraemon 2" is the sequel to the 2014 film "Stand by Me Doraemon", and is a commemorative work for the 50th anniversary of Doraemon. The film is co-directed by Ryuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki, and the story is adapted from the manga "Doraemon" by Fujiko F. Fujio. In this film, Satoshi Tsumabuki returns to voice the adult Nobita, and Nobuko Miyamoto voices Nobita's grandmother.

"Doraemon: Stand by Me 2" is based on the short story "Missing Grandma" from the comic "Doraemon" created by Fujiko F. Fujio.
