■Detailed evaluation and recommendation

■ Story and setting

"Keisatsu Tank Squad TANK SWAT" is a sci-fi action OVA based on the original work by Masamune Shirow, set in the futuristic city of Kobe, where humans and androids coexist. The story begins with a tense confrontation between a police-organized tank unit and an unmanned AI tank operated by a criminal organization. In particular, the plot, which begins with a suspicious tip that an engineer from NT Corporation has personal information on the entire nation of Japan, has the power to draw viewers in.

The appeal of this work is not just the mecha battles, but also the complex human drama that intertwines with the police's intentions, the presence of a mysterious android, etc. The scene in which an office building turns into a battlefield is visually very impactful, allowing you to fully enjoy Masamune Shirow's worldview.

■ Characters

Yukino Satsuki, who plays the main character Ozaki Leona, captivates viewers with her powerful acting. As the leader of the tank unit, Leona leaves a strong impression as she fights calmly and boldly. The supporting cast, including Mizuuchi Kiyomitsu as the golfer and Sakata Kayo as Asada, are also unique, adding depth to the story. In particular, Toyohara Shizuka's acting as Anna skillfully expresses the subtleties of emotion, evoking sympathy from viewers.

The character settings are also fascinating, with each character's backstory and relationships carefully drawn. For example, the character played by Kawazuma Miho as Uni is an android who struggles with her conflicts, but her performance as she fights alongside her friends is moving. In addition, Konishi Katsuyuki as Habana and Torokoshama as Shinozaki also play their respective roles to add excitement to the story.

■Video and Music

Visually, the attention to detail of director Fuhiga can be seen everywhere. In particular, the tank battle scenes are realistic and powerful, making a strong visual impact. The technical skills of Nobuyuki Shiogama, Cobi, Kaisei Kishi, and Daisuke Miura, who were in charge of modeling and motion, shine through, realistically recreating the atmosphere of the futuristic city of Kobe.

Musically, the theme songs "TM1" and "Sky Moyou" are impressive. Re+sa's vocals and Hiroyuki Kato's composition are a perfect match, enhancing the tension and emotion of the story. Sound director Kazuhiro Senda's direction is also superb, enhancing the realism of the battle scenes.

■Production background and staff

"Keisatsu Senshatai TANK SWAT" is a film directed by Roma no Fu Higa, based on the original work by Masamune Shirow. As a member of the Digital Tokiwa-so Project, Roma no Fu Higa has pursued his own unique style of visual expression. This film is also full of his unique attention to detail, and has been praised for its visual beauty and clever storytelling.

Assistant director Kei Nakabayashi and producer Yutaka Kamata also worked hard to improve the quality of the film. With the cooperation of Nippon Herald Films, which distributed the film, and DoGA, which planned and produced it, the film received high praise.

"Police Tank Squad TANK SWAT" is highly recommended for viewers who enjoy sci-fi mecha battle action. In particular, it is a must-see for those who are interested in the world of Masamune Shirow and those who like stories set in futuristic cities.
