Joaquin's Joker will not be linked to Pattinson's Batman

Joaquin Phoenix's version of "Joker" has received great reviews this year, not only winning the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival, but also receiving great media reviews. Robert Pattinson's "Batman" is still in the process of filming, and there is not much detailed information yet, but Todd Phillips, the director of "Joker", said that there is no possibility that Joaquin's version of "Joker" will be linked to Pattinson's version of "Batman".

In an interview with foreign media Variety, when Todd Phillips, the director of "Joker", was asked whether Joaquin's version of "Joker" and Pattinson's version of "Batman" would appear in the same film, Todd Phillips simply replied: "No, absolutely not."

Todd Phillips explained the reason for his answer. There is no reason not to believe that DC will introduce a new Joker image in Robert Pattinson's version of "Batman", but it will definitely not be the "Joker" played by Joaquin Phoenix.

Todd Phillips said: "The amazing thing is that in some states (in the United States), comics are like Shakespeare's works, so people can create multiple versions of Hamlet, the same with the Joker, and I believe there will be more versions in the future."

Todd Phillips' words also confirm previous reports that Joker is intended to be a completely standalone film with no planned sequels or spin-offs. Nevertheless, with Joker reportedly taking place in the early 1990s and rumors that the new Batman standalone film also takes place in the 1990s, some fans still held out hope that the two would cross paths, but that was clearly not the case.

At present, the "Batman" independent film has been confirmed to be made into a series, and the first one will be released in North America on June 25, 2021. The "Joker" independent film will be officially released in North America on October 4
