According to the North American distributor GKids, the animated film "White Snake: Origin" will be released in North America on November 15. The film, directed by Huang Jiakang and Zhao Ji, was inspired by "The Legend of White Snake" and tells the forbidden love story between the white snake demon and the snake catcher A Xuan. It landed on the big screen in mainland China in January 2019 and earned 451 million yuan at the box office.

Currently, "White Snake: Origin" ranks eighth in the historical box office list of Chinese animated films, and has received a lot of praise in terms of word of mouth, with Maoyan 9.3, Tao Piao Piao 9.1, and Douban 7.9.
