The movie adapted from the game "Ni no Kuni" performed poorly, with the box office only half of "Dragon Quest"

The animated theatrical version of the classic and acclaimed game "Ni No Kuni" was released in Japan on August 23. According to the latest box office statistics, this game-adapted work may end in failure in the local market.

The box office rankings show that the Ni no Kuni theatrical version ranked sixth during its premiere, with a total revenue of 140 million yen, or about 1.3 million U.S. dollars or 9.44 million yuan. This is less than half of the box office revenue of the Dragon Quest: Your Story theatrical version at the beginning of the month, so it can be said that the movie suffered a Waterloo at the beginning of the release, far below expectations.

The plot of the Ni no Kuni animated film will continue to follow the setting of the game, allowing the high school protagonist Yuuh and his good friends Kotona and Haru to travel to a fantasy world and change the course of the world's history through their own choices. You will see many echoes of the game in the movie. Kotona encounters danger in both worlds, and the three good friends must work together to resolve the crisis.
