Rumor has it that Ludi Lin will play Shaolin monk Liu Kang in the new Mortal Kombat movie

The game-adapted movie "Mortal Kombat" produced by James Wan is scheduled to be released in North America on March 5, 2021. Recently, Hollywood media "Variety" announced that Chinese actor Ludi Lin is expected to join the film to play the Shaolin monk Liu Kang.

"Mortal Kombat" was previously directed by "Resident Evil" director Paul Anderson and released in 1995. It is one of the few game-adapted movies that has been recognized by game fans and achieved box office success, with the film's global box office reaching $122 million.

The new version of the film will be directed by Simon McQuaid, who is a former advertising director and has shot commercials for many well-known brands such as Nissan, Samsung, and HP.

A new Mortal Kombat movie will begin filming in Australia this year.
