According to foreign media The Hollywood Reporter, three-time Oscar-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson has signed on to shoot "Venom 2", which is also his first foray into shooting a superhero film. Last week Andy Serkis was appointed as the director of Venom 2, the sequel to Sony's 2018 hit film Venom, and now the confirmation of the cinematographer also shows that the sequel project is progressing very quickly. Robert Richardson is one of the preeminent cinematographers in the industry, and has worked for Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and Oliver Stone. Since Kill Bill, Robert Richardson and Tarantino have collaborated on several films, including Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The male lead Tom Hardy and the female lead (female Venom) Michelle Williams will both return for "Venom 2", which will begin filming this fall and is expected to be released in North America on October 2 next year. |
