The third film in the "Sherlock Holmes" series starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will be filmed. Today, the director of this long-awaited sequel has finally been confirmed, taking a substantial step forward. It is reported that "Sherlock Holmes 3" will be directed by Dexter Fletcher, the director of "Rocketman" and "Eddie the Eagle", while the first two films "Sherlock Holmes" (2009) and "Sherlock Holmes 2" (2011) were directed by Guy Ritchie. Series stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law both return in Sherlock Holmes 3 to continue playing Holmes and Watson, while Rachel McAdams's role as Irene will also return. Sources have claimed that Warner Bros. had been planning to make a third film, however Downey's busy schedule as Iron Man hampered any new filming on the series. "Sherlock Holmes 3" will be released on December 21, 2021, ten years after the release of "Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows". Irene Irene |
