Independent animation film distribution company GKids has won the North American distribution rights for "White Snake: Origin". This animation, which has earned 448 million yuan in China, will be released in North America this fall. The original Chinese version and the new English version will be released at that time. It is reported that the producer, Light Chaser Animation, is also currently preparing for the sequel of "White Snake", and the preliminary work has already started. Gkids has previously released many acclaimed animation works, including "The Secret of Kells", "The Tale of Princess Kaguya", "When Marnie Was There" and "Mirai", and "White Snake: Origin" is the first Chinese animation released by the company. This week, "White Snake: Origin" will premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. The Annecy Animation Film Festival has always been a grand event in the field of international animation and is known as the "Oscar of Animation". "White Snake: Origin" is jointly produced by Light Chaser Animation and Warner, directed by Huang Jiakang and Zhao Ji. The story is based on an ancient Chinese legend and tells the story of an amnesiac white snake searching for her identity and gaining love. GKids President David Jesteadt valued the innovation of "White Snake: Origin" and said that the film "raised the threshold and narrative level of China's top animation." |
