According to the latest report from foreign media, the Los Angeles police confirmed that Keya Morgan, the former agent of "Father of Marvel" Stan Lee, was arrested on Saturday (May 25th) local time for elder abuse. Keya Morgan was previously indicted by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office on May 10 on suspicion of one felony count of unlawful imprisonment of an elder, three felony counts of theft, embezzlement, forgery or fraud against an elder, and one misdemeanor count of elder abuse, and was eventually arrested in Arizona on an arrest warrant. Police said Keya Morgan at one point took Stan Lee from his Hollywood Hills home to Beverly Hills "where Morgan could better control Lee." In February 2018, Keya Morgan took over Stan Lee's business affairs and personal life, and allegedly isolated Stan Lee from his family and friends. According to documents filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court in 2018, Morgan also embezzled $5 million in assets. Last summer, Stan Lee's lawyers filed documents with the court requesting a restraining order against Morgan. Morgan's bail was set at $300,000 and he will be extradited to Los Angeles to face the charges. If convicted of each of the charges, Morgan could face up to 10 years in prison. On November 12, 2018 local time, Stan Lee, a veteran figure in the American comics industry, died at a medical center in Hollywood at the age of 95. |
