George Clooney once advised Ben Affleck not to play Batman: Don't take this job, you know

According to The Hollywood Reporter, as two male gods who have both played "Batman", George Clooney and "Big Ben" Ben Affleck admire each other. George Clooney even advised "Big Ben" not to play "Batman".

As one of the most charming actors in Hollywood, George Clooney can be said to be getting more charming as he gets older. He once played the role of "Batman" in "Batman & Robin" in 1997, but the result was highly criticized. This acting experience can be said to have had an impact on his entire film career and also taught him a lesson in the "operation process of the film industry."

When George Clooney recalled the painful experience of "Batman & Robin", he said: "You know, Schwarzenegger's salary (for this movie) was more than 20 times mine. I remember his salary was 25 million US dollars, and we only worked together for one day. I was very passionate about my work. Now, you get what you pay for. My Batman is really not that good, and the movie is also average to be honest, but I learned a lot from this failure, such as rethinking my way of working. I am not an actor who only knows how to take roles. I am also responsible for the quality of the film."

Years later, when George Clooney and Ben Affleck were working together on Argo, the former "master" finally had a chance to talk to his new ex, Ben Affleck, who played the Dark Knight in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it turned out that what George Clooney said to Ben was very direct and realistic.

George Clooney recalled: "I did talk to him (Ben) about playing Batman, and I said, 'Don't take the role,' given my experience, you know..." Although Ben eventually played Batman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", George Clooney said that he still did a great job.

At present, Ben Affleck has confirmed that he will not star in DC's "Batman" independent film. The new "master" is still being sought and the film is not expected to be released until 2020.
