"Mortal Kombat" movie to be filmed in Australia, the largest-scale filming in South Australia's history

Today (May 14), South Australian Premier Steven Marshall accepted a news interview and tweeted that Warner's epic action game "Mortal Kombat" will start filming related IP movies in South Australia, which will be the largest film production in South Australia's history.

According to Steven Marshall, this "Mortal Kombat" movie should be produced and distributed by New Line Cinema, and the film will be shot in Adelaide, the fifth largest city in Australia and the capital of South Australia.

Steven Marshall said that the filming of this movie will create many new job opportunities in the local area and will also help improve the level of local film production.

It is reported that this new "Mortal Kombat" movie has been in preparation for a long time and will be directed by Australian advertising director Simon McQuoid, which will be his film debut.

In fact, the "Mortal Kombat" IP had launched a movie a long time ago. The first one was shot in 1995 by Paul WS Anderson, who later directed the "Resident Evil" movie. It grossed 120 million US dollars (about 830 million yuan) worldwide. Unfortunately, the box office of the second film in the series, "Annihilation" (1997), declined, with a global box office of 51 million US dollars (about 350 million yuan).

(The box office in the picture is the domestic box office in the United States)

Now that the "Mortal Kombat" movie series has a new film, those who are interested may wish to pay attention to it.
