The risk of BT download piracy is getting bigger and bigger. According to media reports, the producers of popular movies such as "The Expendables 3", "The Disciples" and "After" recently listed a list of 63 IP addresses and applied for DMCA anti-infringement subpoenas from the Hawaii court. With a subpoena, they can ask the ISP to provide the real user information behind the IP address and initiate a claim. The report said that it is relatively easy to track down BitTorrent pirates because IP addresses are publicly broadcast. With the help of Internet providers, these addresses can be linked to account holders. Since the beginning of this year, film production companies have successfully locked down 53 IP addresses and their users through this method. Although they cannot get enough compensation every time, the film producers believe that the deterrent effect of copyright infringement formed by this action is the result they want. |
