The five-year plan has already been finalized. Marvel will not consider the "X-Men" movie in recent years

After producing 22 movies that are interconnected around a shared universe and grossing nearly $20 billion worldwide, what’s next for Marvel? CEO Kevin Feige gave his answer in an interview with io9, and it may disappoint some fans.

Avengers: Endgame, which will be released in China on April 24, will mark the end of Marvel Studios' 11 years of film production. Starting in 2020, Marvel will launch the "Phase 4" of the film universe, expanding the story structure and bringing more superheroes to the screen. These heroic stories will be affected by past events and show a different charm from the comics and original works. In addition, Disney has now acquired 20th Century Fox and obtained the long-coveted "X-Men" copyright, but according to Feige, fans don't need to hold their breath and wait for the next few years.

" It will take some time for this (adding the X-Men to the Marvel Cinematic Universe). We have long started to formulate a five-year plan for the fourth phase, and this plan was finalized before the acquisition of Fox. For us, now we can design some details and Easter eggs of the X-Men as we like, which makes us feel very comfortable. Yes, they have returned to the big family, but it will take a long time before they can return to the protagonist . "

Marvel's new five-year plan will most likely start with independent films such as "Black Widow", "Shang-Chi", and "Eternals". However, on Marvel CEO Feige's "list of topics that he doesn't want to discuss in depth", the priority of this fourth phase seems to be higher than "Avengers 4". Movie fans have to calm down and wait for its arrival.
