According to Hong Kong media reports, on February 20, actress Jessica Hsuan revealed at an event that the film version of "A Step into the Past" is expected to start shooting at the end of March. She said the script is still being revised.

Jessica Hsuan also revealed that she has not read the script yet: "Because there is no script yet, I have been revising it and want to make it better. When I was having dinner with my friends, they made some suggestions. If I think it's okay, I will talk to Louis Koo (Louis Koo)." When asked whether she would continue the story of the TV series, Jessica Hsuan immediately shut up: "Boss Koo doesn't allow me to say it!"

Previously, the movie version of "A Step into the Past" was announced to be jointly produced by Huace Film & TV and Louis Koo's One Trend Productions, starring the original cast of the TV series Louis Koo, Raymond Lam and Jessica Hsuan. Two concept posters were released and it was previously reported that the filming would be scheduled for the end of 2017.

In 2001, TVB launched the TV series "A Step into the Past" based on Huang Yi's martial arts novel of the same name. Louis Koo played the 21st century police elite Xiang Shaolong who was sent back to the Qin Dynasty by a time shuttle, where he talked about love with the ancients and worried about history. The audience was shocked by the unique ideas in the play and accepted the idea of time travel in film and television dramas.
