According to foreign media Variety, Sony's "Uncharted" movie will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the director of the 2016 thriller "10 Cloverfield Lane". The Sony Uncharted movie is not going well, and they have lost several directors. The latest director to be lost is Shawn Levy (director of Stranger Things 2), who chose to withdraw from the Sony Uncharted movie project due to schedule conflicts in directing another game-adapted movie Free Guy. Tom Holland will continue to play the young version of Drake, and the film will detail the first meeting between Drake and his "stealing mentor" Sully Sullivan. The filming date has not yet been determined, but Sony is organizing it based on the global promotion of Tom Holland's Spider-Man 2: Far From Home, hoping to start filming within the year. Dan Trachtenberg is best known for directing the hugely successful Cloverfield spinoff 10 Cloverfield Lane, which grossed $110 million worldwide on a budget of less than $20 million.
