The script for the sequel to Alien: Covenant, Alien: Awakening, has been completed and is waiting to start filming

According to foreign media reports, the script for the sequel to "Alien: Covenant", "Alien: Awakening", has been completed and is currently in the stage of waiting to start shooting.

John Logan, co-writer of Alien: Covenant, recently revealed the plot of the sequel in an interview. In the previous film, the android David (Michael Fassbender) caused a planetary massacre and the engineers were exterminated. Awakening will tell the story of a group of engineers who survived the massacre and started their revenge.

This battle is expected to take place on the planet LV-426, which is also the place where the heroine Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) encountered the alien in the first "Alien" movie. It can be seen that "Alien: Awakening" will show the entire series universe more completely.

It is reported that Fassbender will continue to act, but the possibility of "Alien: Awakening" being successfully approved and made into a movie is questionable.

The production budget of "Alien: Covenant" was close to $100 million, but the film only earned $74 million at the North American box office after its release last year. Although the global total box office reached $240 million, the audience's interest in this series of films has also been on a downward trend.

In addition, whether Ridley Scott, the creator of "Alien", will return to direct is also a big unknown.
