20th Century Fox is planning a sequel to "Alien: Reaper", which will continue the story of "Alien: Reaper", and the original director Fede Alvare is expected to return. In an interview with THR, 20th Century Fox executive Steve Asbell discussed the success of Alien: Revenge and possible sequels. "We are working on an idea for a sequel right now," he said. "We haven't reached a substantive agreement with Fede yet, but we intend to do it, and he has an idea that we are working on." He added: "The two survivors, Rain and Andy, played by Carrie Spaeny and David Johnson, are a highlight of the film. So I always think, 'Wow, where do people want to see them go next?' We knew there were going to be aliens. We knew there were going to be great horror scenes. But I fell in love with both of them, and I wanted to see their story." This summer's Alien: Revenge successfully reinvigorated the franchise, grossing an estimated $108 million worldwide in its first run. In fact, Alien is getting a full revival, with Noah Hawley currently working on Alien: Earth, which will feature at least one alien, and Alien: Isolation 2, a gaming title, is also in development. As for 20th Century Fox's parent company Disney, it is busy developing multiple Predator movies, Avatar 3 and a new Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie (possibly for release in 2027). |
