According to foreign media reports, although the Marvel superhero movie "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" has fired the previous director of the series, James Gunn, the filming plan of the movie is still going on. It's just that this sequel may make fans wait for another two years before it can be officially released.

According to the latest update from Production Weekly, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will begin production in February 2021, and the film was originally scheduled to start shooting in early 2019, which was delayed for two years. As for the release date of the film, it will be postponed from the original 2020 to 2022, or even later.

After James Gunn, the director of the first two films, was fired by Disney, there is currently no confirmed director for this film, but information from Production Weekly shows that Gunn's name is still listed as the only screenwriter of the film.

Gunn's younger brother Sean Gunn (who previously played the predator Kraglin in "Guardians of the Galaxy") recently revealed that he and Disney have confirmed that the film will continue, but it is not certain when. At the same time, Sean also made it clear that his brother's script will be used in the sequel.

What’s even more interesting is that the updated information also shows that the film’s shooting codename is “Hot Christmas.” As for the latest information from Production Weekly, Marvel and Disney have not yet given an official response.
