Is there hope for a domestic release? Tencent Films announces investment in Venom

At the 9.17 Tencent Film Conference tonight, Tencent Film announced its investment in the Marvel blockbuster "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", becoming one of its global producers and will participate in the domestic distribution of the film.

It is reported that Tencent Pictures has previously invested in Hollywood blockbusters including "Warcraft" and "Kong: Skull Island", so "Venom" may become a bridge for the long-term cooperation between Tencent Pictures and Marvel Pictures.

Venom is Marvel's first super villain movie and will be released in the United States on October 5, 2018. Not long ago, Sony Columbia Pictures refuted rumors on Weibo that Venom has not yet been approved in China, so joining hands with Tencent may help the movie be released in China.
