Henry Cavill posted a mysterious video on his Instagram on Wednesday night, which was released after multiple media reports that he and Warner Bros. had parted ways, and that he would no longer play the leading or supporting role of Superman in the future. In this video, Cavill is wearing a sweatshirt with "Krypton Weightlifting Team" printed on it in front of the camera. With the accompaniment of background music, he slowly raises the Superman figure in his hand and puts it down at the end of the video. He captioned the video "Excited today" followed by the hashtag #superman. It's unclear what Cavill was trying to say. Perhaps he was responding to reports that were false and that he's not done playing Superman and that his contract will continue - or he could be communicating that he's actually done with the role. According to THR earlier on Wednesday, Warner Bros. said: "While certain decisions regarding the upcoming Superman film have yet to be made, our respect and relationship with Henry Cavill remain unchanged." In other news, Henry Cavill has been confirmed to play the role of Geralt in the live-action drama "The Witcher", which has led to a scheduling conflict with his Superman role in "Shazam", leading to this situation. |
