Black actress: Black and inclusive stories are no longer a priority in Hollywood

Recently, black actress Issa Rae (who has starred in "Barbie" and "American Fiction") was interviewed by foreign media Deadline and talked about the recent trend changes in Hollywood. According to her, major Hollywood film distributors have begun to cancel "black" films and fired those responsible for film diversity and inclusion.

“There’s a bad situation going on right now where you’re seeing a lot of black shows being canceled, a lot of executives being fired, especially in equality, diversity and inclusion departments,” Issa Rae said. “It’s clear right now that black and inclusive stories are not being taken as seriously.”

The black actress sees these changes in a negative light, while netizens, on the contrary, are enthusiastic about the news because they are fed up with stories in Hollywood movies that artificially impose or change skin color (such as the live-action movie "The Little Mermaid").

Major Hollywood film distributors have begun to give up on promoting the so-called correct culture in their films. For example, there is not a single black person in the upcoming Netflix animated series "Avatar: The Legend of Aang" - almost all the actors in the film are Asian, based on the source material. A few years ago, such a thing would have been unthinkable. The same thing happened to Disney: in the live-action "Lilo & Stitch" movie, all the actors were chosen to be as close to the source material as possible, including the role of Lilo, which was played by a young Hawaiian actress.

Apparently in a few years we'll be able to see this change for the better in Hollywood movies.
