Recently, there have been rumors online that the movie "Catching Dolls", which was originally scheduled to be released on July 16, will be withdrawn. The news quickly attracted the attention and discussion of movie fans.

However, the official Weibo account of "Catching Dolls" quickly refuted the rumors of "withdrawal" by announcing that the film would be screened nationwide on July 13.

It is understood that "Catching Dolls" is a comedy film directed by Yan Fei and Peng Damo, written by Peng Damo, Yan Fei and Lin Bingbao, and starring Shen Teng and Ma Li.

This film marks the second big-screen collaboration between Shen Teng and Ma Li after "Charlotte's Troubles" and "The Lone Moon". It also marks the return of Happy Twist and the "Xihong City Universe".

The film tells the story of Ma Chenggang (played by Shen Teng) and Chunlan (played by Ma Li) who live in Xihong City and raise their children in reverse. However, the Ma couple has their own little secrets behind the scenes.

According to real-time data from Lighthouse Professional Edition, as of 21:00 on July 6, the summer box office reached 2.842 billion yuan, with "A Small Shop at the Edge of the Cloud", "The Silent War", and "Inside Out 2" temporarily ranking the top three on the box office list for the period.

As of now, 98 films have been scheduled (including release) for the 2024 summer season.
