According to Variety, a real crime occurred on the set of "The Equalizer 3," a new action film starring Denzel Washington, in which a chivalrous man punishes evildoers. On Monday evening (October 31st) local time, the head of the catering company for the film's Italian set suddenly died of a heart attack, leading Italian police to begin an investigation and find small packages of cocaine in his clothes. This led police to investigate the hotel room where other members of the catering company were at the time. In the room, police found 120 grams of cocaine. They arrested two other members of the catering company on charges related to drug trafficking, and also revoked another employee's desiccant possession license. Sony Pictures is working with Italian company Eagle Pictures to film The Equalizer 3, and the crew is currently in the fourth week of filming in the Amalfi Coast region. Local clothing company Garbo Produzioni is responsible for the crew's various service needs in the local area. A representative of Garbo Produzioni responded that the company would not comment on the matter. "The Equalizer 3" will be produced by the original team and is scheduled to be released on September 1, 2023. |
