"Mrs. Spider" has a bad reputation! IGN 5 points MTC 29 points

The media reviews of Mrs. Spider were lifted, and as expected, the film's media reviews were consistent with the previous social media reviews, both of which were very bad. Mrs. Spider's MTC score was only 29 points, while the comprehensive media IGN gave it 5 points.

Spider-Madame IGN 5 points: Mediocre

Mrs. Spider has the makings of an interesting hybrid film—part superhero movie, part psychological thriller—but due to an overstuffed script with irrelevant characters, nondescript personalities, and stereotypical dialogue, it fails to live up to the talent and future of the silver screen’s female Spider-Women.

IGN Rating Summary:

Mrs. Spider tries to tie together a lot of plots and characters, but the end result is messy and underwhelming. It tries to balance the comedic tone of modern superhero movies with a more interesting psychological thriller, and it might have been more exciting if it had invested more time in developing its protagonist and villain instead of struggling to tie all these new versions of the characters together.

It fails to succeed as a standalone film or as a franchise starter, fails to tell a satisfying origin story for Cassie or make a compelling case for future Spider-Women to be in the fold, and its dialogue is thin, but its few action sequences are reminiscent of classic Spider-Man movies from the early 2000s.

The average score of MTC's 24 media outlets was only 29 points:
